Ana Paula Capeto Matos de Sousa

Ana Paula Capeto Matos de Sousa is an assistant researcher in Alchemy project (collaborative project between Amyris Inc. and Biotechnology School of the Portuguese Catholic University (ESB-UCP) at UCP involved in the economic valorization of coproducts/residues from Amyris fermentative processes aiming the development of new ingredients for food, cosmetic and materials applications.

Holds a master’s degree in Fluid Mechanics Engineering (2006),  from University of Porto (FEUP), and is graduated both in Chemical Engineering - Protection Environmental Technologies (2000) and Chemical Engineering (1997) at Polytechnic Institute (ISEP).

Currently attending pHD in Biotechnology at Portuguese Catholic University with the work plan title “Development of a bio-based process that converts lipid’s distillation and evaporation residues into polymers with potential application for further materials industry”.

Senior Technician and laboratory co-manager, between 1998 and 2010 in Polytechnic Institute (ISEP), and entrepreneur in Natural Cosmetics, since 2010.

Research interests include inorganic chemistry, analytical chemistry, non-newtonian fluids, cosmetic formulation and waste treatment.
