I finished my Master in Biochemistry in 2018 at University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro (UTAD) in collaboration with the Faculty of Pharmacy of University of Porto (FFUP). During my academic and scientific career, I developed skills in the areas of basic biochemistry, cell and molecular biology, and oncopathology. I was a research fellow at I3s / IBMC- Institute of Molecular and Cellular Biology and at the i3Bs-Institute of Biomaterials, Biodegradables and Biomimetics, where I learned several techniques of Molecular Biology (PCR, RT-qPCR, CRISPR / cas9, production and purification of recombinant proteins). In 2021 I started my Ph.D. in Biotechnology at UCP- Faculty of Biotechnology with the title “Immunomodulatory activity of b-glucans from natural sources in the skin”, aiming to find new molecules with immunomodulatory capacity for dermatological applications. My thesis is supervised by Professor Freni Kekhasharú Tavaria and co-supervised Professor Manuela Pintado and Professor Pedro Rodrigues. I am also a regular contributor to scientific conferences and project meetings giving talks and presenting posters.
