Beatriz Queiroz Silva is currently a PhD student in Biotechnology in ESB-UCP in CBQF, as well as a Research Associate in the German Institute of Food Technologies (DIL e.V.) in the Food Data Group. Presently working on the area of sustainability of the current food systems.
I concluded my MSc in 2020 in Food Science and Technology in a joint program by FCUP and UMinho with the final thesis developed in DIL e.V. under the name of “High-pressure processing-induced gels with plant proteins”. Before that, during my BSc in Microbiology (2015-2018) in ESB-UCP, in the scope of the TRUE project, I evaluated processes of treatment and disinfection of lentils selected through a nutritional and proteogenomic analysis of legumes, that originated a publication.
I have received 8 awards and/or honours, with the most recent one being Finalist in "EFFoST Student of the Year Awards" - Popular vote, by the European Federation of Food Science and Technology (11/2021).
