Catarina Pereira holds a BSc degree in Biology with a master’s in applied microbiology and is finishing her PhD in systems biology at the University of Lisbon. During her career, she acquired knowledge in Mycobacterium tuberculosis characterization, bioinformatics and molecular biology fields. She is a research scientist in the CBQF (Centro de Biotecnologia e Química Fina) focused on the study of mechanisms that contribute to the persistence of Listeria monocytogenes strains in food contributing to improving food safety. Between health and food microbiology she presents 5 research papers having participated in several international conferences.
