I have a degree in Biotechnology in 2016 from ESAC-Instituto Politécnico de Coimbra and a master's degree in Food Safety in 2019 from the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Coimbra. My scientific career started in 2019 with an internship under the ERASMUS program at Laberca- Laboratoire d’étude des résidus et contaminants dans les aliments, Nantes, France). In 2020 I had a research grant at the School of Biotechnology of the Catholic University of Porto, within the scope of the MOBFOOD project, to respond to the challenges of the agri-food market. One of my research goals is the development of sustainable alternatives using by-products rich in bioactive compounds, promoting the circular economy. I am currently a PhD student in Biotechnology at CBQF/ESB-UCP with the main objective of development and characterization of functional ingredients through the valorization of Citrus limon peels: natural antioxidants and antimicrobials for food preservation.
