Diana Maria Gonçalves de Castro

Diana Castro hold a BSc degree in Biochemistry followed by a MSc degree in Food Biochemistry both obtained in University of Aveiro. During the academic formation, Diana worked on a project whose main purpose was to assess the impacts of environmental contamination of mercury on European eel. During her master thesis Diana did a curricular internship in the company “Irmãos Monteiro, S.A.” where she worked in the field of food quality/safety. After her MSc degree she worked in the following subjects: synthesis of substrates nanostructured with metal nanoparticles and recycling metals from secondary sources. Between July 2018 and December 2019, Diana was a research fellow in CBQF, ESB-UCP, in the project “BIONANOSCULP: Development of bionanomaterials for anti-microbial coating of metal and stone-based outdoor sculptures” where she worked in green conservation/bionanotechnology. Currently, Diana Castro is a PhD Student in Biotechnology in CBQF, ESB-UCP, with a FCT PhD grant (since January 2020).
