Marta Duarte has a degree in Biochemistry and a Masters in Biomedical Engineering. Before joining CBQF as a PhD Student, she has interned at the Centro Interdisciplinar de Investigação Marinha e Ambiental (CIIMAR) and at the Instituto de Investigação e Inovação em Saúde (i3S). Through her research career, Marta has worked within the areas of enzymatic extraction, biomaterial engineering, mechanical and biological characterization of biomaterials, sterilization and decellularization of sensitive materials, and supercritical fluids. Additionally, she has experience in organizing scientific events (Biotechnology Innovation Forum), and other outreaching activities.
