Marta Nunes da Silva is a Biologist with a PhD in Agronomical Sciences (University of Porto, Portugal). Her research areas include the study of plant-pathogen interactions, through physiological, genomic and metabolomic approaches, and plant nutrition, focusing on the effect of environmental contamination and cultural practices on plant fitness and productivity. Marta is currently a Doctorate Junior Researcher at CBQF, working on nutritional profiling and valorization of underexplored and potentially valuable crops. She has participated in 16 R&D Projects, 7 as Research Fellow, published 26 articles in specialized peer-reviewed journals, was part of the organizing committee of 3 national events and presented a total of 39 communications in national and international meetings. She was part of the supervising team of 1 PhD thesis, 6 MSc dissertations and 13 BSc final projects, and has been involved in Teaching activities as Invited Assistant Professor and Lecturer in 1 international (Macau, China) and 3 national Universities (Porto University, Minho University and Catholic University of Portugal). Marta participated as Visiting Researcher at 4 international institutions (5 short-term and 1 long-term missions) and received 8 awards from international organizations, including two Young Mind Awards and the 1st place in the international competition Three Minute Thesis (3MT), sponsored by the International Society for Horticultural Sciences (ISHS), and the Agronomy 2021 Best PhD Thesis Award by the scientific publisher MDPI.
