Mónica Oliveira has a BSc's degree in Microbiology and the Master's degree in Applied Microbiology by ESB-UCP. During the final Degree project, she acquired knowledge related to the microbiological and biochemical analysis of extracts of propolis, a natural antimicrobial substance. In the practical part of the Master's degree, she worked in food safety which allowed her to work with several techniques, such as molecular microbiology, cell culture, and antimicrobial techniques.
In a 12-month fellowship (Dec 2020 - Nov 2021) she was a researcher fellow at CBQF in the project cLabel+ and, alongside this program, she did a specialization on Food Safety as a postgraduate course. Actually, she won a PhD grant from FCT.
She is the author of 1 book's chapter alluding to the master's thesis and 6 poster communications in scientific symposiums.
