Raquel Beatriz Ribeiro de Mesquita

Raquel B. R. Mesquita is a researcher and invited assistant professor at Universidade Católica - Escola Superior de Biotecnologia (ESB-UCP), Porto, Portugal. She got her degree in Microbiology from in ESB-UCP (1999), her MsC degree in Biotechnology from De Monfort University Leicester, UK (2000) and her PhD degree in Biotechnology (specialization in Chemistry) from ESB-UCP (2007). She co-authored more than 55 papers in international journals and was involved in the supervision of 3 PhD thesis. She was awarded a Endeavour Fellowship Award, by the Australian government (2015); and a FIA Award for younger researcher, by the Japanese Association for Flow Injection Analysis (2016). Her research interests are focused on applied analytical chemistry to microfluidic analysis, namely development of analytical devices, as efficient in the moment alternative to perform chemical/biochemical analysis in biological and environmental dynamic systems. She has strengthened collaboration with Melbourne University, Balearic Islands University and Mahidol University. Her teaching activity involves analytical chemistry and automation disciplines.
