Sofia Isabel Almeida Pereira

Sofia Pereira holds a degree in Biology (2001), a MSc. in Toxicology (2004) and a PhD in Biology (2010). She is researcher at CBQF and Invited Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Biotechnology, UCP. Her scientific activity has been focused on fostering biotechnological approaches towards a more sustainable and resilient agriculture and on the use of phytoremediation and phytomanagement strategies for the recovery of environmentally degraded areas. She has published >40 peer-review papers and book chapters and has participated in several national/international projects. She is involved in the supervision of students from different academic levels.
