I am a PhD student at the Universidade Católica Portuguesa in Food Science and Technology and Nutrition and my current research interest is to obtain functional protein and peptides from fish by products and this is my PhD final thesis title which needs to be accomplish both experimentally and theoretically that updating the current data base will lead to valuable outcomes which I hope to affect in society and industry as soon. Since March 2017 to December 2019 I worked in CBQF, on the project MULTIBIOREFINARY (REF.:016403 BI_2) as a research fellowship, under the supervision of Prof. Manuela Pintado. I have been applying my knowledge on the biotechnology, by performing preliminary characterization of agri-food and fishery by-products to gather some insights into their composition. This characterization completed with the definition of the most interesting compounds to be targeted for extraction and valorisation in subsequent activities aiming at their integrated valorisation.
