Rui Morais

Got his Ph.D., in 1990, in Nat. Sci. from the Univ. of Saarland, Saarbrücken, Germany. B.Sc. in Pharm. Sci. from the Univ. of Porto, Portugal, in 1985. He is Associate Professor at UCP-ESB. Lectures several unities in the chemistry field. He is author or co-author of more than 60 papers and book chapters. Research interest include: bio-based and bioactive products from plant and microalgae and their application in food, feed and health sectors. Coordinator of more than 20 national and international R&D projects; 2 portuguese patents; invited reviewer for several international journals and evaluator for AdI, CRUP and FCT R&D projects. Associate Editor of the journals Foods, Marine Drugs, Int. Biobased Plastics and Frontiers in Marine Sciences. He held an appointment as Director of the CBQF (various terms). He holds a position in the Directors Board of the European MSc BiFTec-FOOD4S. and he was in the Directors Board of SEFOTECH.NUT for 10 years.
