"Mediation and Negotiation: Perspectives from Singapore" is an interactive online webinar promoting mediation and negotiation to students who are new to Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR).
This webinar will cover an introduction to mediation and negotiation and the speakers will share their experiences in international ADR competitions as participants and as alumni coaches, and share valuable insights as to what one ought to know before a competition. There will be a live mediation demonstration as well, where you can see mediation and negotiation skills in action.

Benedict Koh is a Disputes and Investigations associate at Allen & Gledhill LLP in Singapore. He is actively involved in the realm of mediation and negotiation. During his time at Singapore Management University, he competed in various CDR competitions such as the 2020 ADC-ICC Asia-Pacific Commercial Mediation Competition, the 2020 Moot Shanghai (Special Mediation Edition), and the inaugural edition of International Mediation Singapore held in 2019
After graduating in 2021, he has been active as an alumni coach for SMU CDR competition teams, successfully guiding over 10 teams in various competitions, including Lex Infinitum 2023, the 2022 edition of the ADC-ICC Asia-Pacific Commercial Mediation Competition, and the 2021 and 2022 editions of the NUJS Mediation Competition, among others. In addition, Mr Koh is also an Accredited Mediator with SIMI and formerly served as a Young IP Mediator with IPOS.

Foo Chuan He is a Legal Trainee in the Equity Capital Markets Department at Allen & Gledhill LLP in Singapore. Mr Foo was active in the international mediation & negotiation scene, competing in various competitions as a student. Notable competitions under his belt include ADC-ICC Asia-Pacific Commercial Mediation Competition 2021, the ALSA International Mediation Competition 2020, and Lex Infinitum VMSCL-AIDR International Dispute Resolution Competition 2020. In recognition of his achievements, he was also awarded the National SMU-SIMI Collaborative Dispute Resolution Award in 2020.
Currently, Mr Foo has mentored multiple SMU teams for international ADR competitions as an alumni coach with excellent results, including Lex Infinitum 2023, APIIT Law School International Negotiation Competition 2022 (ALSINC) and the ALSA International Mediation Competition (AIMC) 2022.
