Francisco Rodrigues completed his Master's degree in Biomedical Engineering at the Faculdade de Engenharia - Universidade do Porto in 2022. Prior to this, he earned his Bachelor's degree in Bioengineering from Escola Superior de Biotecnologia – Universidade Católica Portuguesa in 2020. During his bachelor's degree, he enrolled in an ERASMUS+ program for one semester and received multiple merit awards throughout his academic path. During his master's degree, he worked on his dissertation at the i3S (Instituto de Investigação e Inovação em Saúde – Universidade do Porto) and ICBAS (Instituto de Ciências Biomédicas Abel Salazar – Universidade do Porto), where he studied the mechanisms of action of antimicrobial peptides using membrane mimetic models. In addition, Francisco also has a great interest in tissue engineering and regenerative medicine, one of the main reasons he joined the Biomaterials and Biomedical technology lab where he will pursue his PhD project.
