  • Católica organizes 5th CAtolica REsearch: CARE Beyond Academia meeting

    Applications are now open for "CARE Beyond Academia", the 5th edition of CATólica REsearch, the annual meeting that brings together the 15 Research Units of Católica (Lisbon, Porto, Braga and Viseu), and which this year takes place at Católica Medical School, in Sintra, on September 15.

    This meeting invites participants to delve deeper into topics such as social innovation, community engagement, scientific employment, sustainable development and the role of research in shaping policy and practice beyond the academic sphere.

  • 3rd INSURE.hub Conference on Innovation, Sustainability and Regeneration

    Universidade Católica Portuguesa in Porto and Planetiers are pleased to invite you to the 3rd Conference of the INSURE HUB. The event will take place on November 16th and 17th. Innovation, Sustainability and Regeneration are the key topics of the conference that will take place at the UCP Porto campus.

    The aim of the conference is to bring together students, researchers, and industry professionals discussing topics related to innovation, sustainability and regeneration. We intend to prepare a program that aims to be at the forefront in the international landscape, having the contribution of professionals and leaders that have been directly involved in disruptive, circular, sustainable and/or regenerative innovation processes applied in practice.

    The programme presents the most national and international recent developments on these topics and has two distinct parts: (i) the Academic Branch (November 16th), dedicated to academic presentations; and (ii) the Industry Branch (November 17th), with the presentation of 6 case studies and the intervention of Manuela Veloso, Head of J.P. Morgan AI Research & Herbert A. Simon University Professor Emeritus in the School of Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon University.

  • Conferência “Challenges and Perspectives for the Future of Platformisation”

    A Conferência “Challenges and Perspectives for the Future of Platformisation” insere-se no âmbito do projeto de colaboração entre a Escola do Porto da Faculdade de Direito da Universidade Católica Portuguesa e a University of Information Technology and Management, em Rzeszow, na Polónia, intitulado "Semi-workers and Semi-competitiors? The Interplay of Competition and Labour Law in Times of “Platformisation”. 

    Este projeto tem como objetivo estudar a proteção conferida aos prestadores de plataformas, como zona de confluência entre o Direito da Concorrência e o Direito do Trabalho. 

    Neste quarto evento, debater-se-ão as soluções legislativas atualmente em vigor em Portugal, na Polónia e no ordenamento jurídico da União Europeia e quais as perspetivas para o futuro.

  • Semana de Acolhimento para Estudantes Internacionais

    De 6 a 8 de setembro decorre na Universidade Católica Portuguesa no Porto a Semana de Acolhimento para Estudantes Internacionais. Serão dias intensos para os estudantes internacionais que escolhem a nossa instituição e durante os quais conhecerão a cidade, o campus e acederão a informação sobre questões práticas da vida no campus e na cidade. Será uma semana onde irão conhecer colegas, fazer novos amigos e desfrutar do Porto antes do início das aulas.

    Ao longo desta semana o International Office contará com a colaboração de outros alunos da Católica, Buddies, que ajudarão a tornar este acolhimento uma experiência memorável e o primeiro passo na inclusão destes estudantes no nosso campus e na cidade do Porto.

    Entre 14 e 16 de setembro, a Escola das Artes organiza o  PANORAMA #23 , uma grande exposição de apresentação dos projetos artísticos dos alunos da Escola das Artes, à qual se juntam sessões de cinema, concertos e conversas. Um momento de partilha onde será, também, apresentado o Anuário 22-23.

    A entrada é livre e as sessões vão decorrer em vários espaços da Escola das Artes da Universidade Católica Portuguesa no Porto.

  • Jantar Colaborativo: Estudantes e Professores

    Pelas 17h00 do dia 6 de setembro, os novos estudantes da ESB são convidados, em conjunto com os seus futuros professores, a preparar um jantar que marca o início do novo ano letivo. Cada docente trará uma receita diferente para partilhar com os estudantes, promovendo, assim, um arranque de ano num ambiente descontraído, onde os estudantes terão a oportunidade de conhecer os professores com quem terão aulas ao longo do ano.
