A Católica Porto Business School, no âmbito do seu novo Programa Atlântico, a iniciar em setembro de 2023, tem o prazer de o/a convidar para um 'webinar' sobre Business Analytics, conduzido por Conceição Silva.

Num contexto onde os dados à disposição das empresas crescem de forma exponencial, têm surgido duas novas necessidades nas empresas: existirem mecanismos de recolha, armazenamento e conexão de dados, e haver competências de análise de dados para extrair valor dos mesmos. O Business Analytics recai sobre esta última necessidade e contempla um conjunto de desafios e técnicas que vão ser abordados neste seminário.

A sessão vai realizar-se no próximo dia 25 de maio, pelas 18h30, via Zoom, sujeita a inscrição prévia.

No âmbito do Mestrado em Enfermagem, a Escola de Enfermagem do Porto da Universidade Católica organiza um Ciclo de Webinars, que tem como objetivo abordar diferentes temáticas e desafios da atualidade, tendo em conta as áreas de especialização do curso de mestrado.

Com o desenvolvimento dos Sistemas de Informação em Enfermagem e da investigação na área da Vigilância Epidemiológica dos Diagnósticos de Enfermagem encontramos hoje um contexto favorável ao valor insubstituível dos Enfermeiros Especialistas nas Unidades de Saúde Pública e do potencial de registo de todos os Enfermeiros nos CSP como contributo para os Diagnósticos Locais de Saúde e os Planos Locais de Saúde.

Neste webinar vamos refletir sobre como estamos, onde queremos estar e como fazer este caminho.

Esta iniciativa é organizada pela Rede de Centros de Documentação Europeia em Portugal, onde se inclui o Centro de Documentação Europeia da Universidade Católica - Porto, com o apoio da Representação da Comissão Europeia em Portugal.

Open Class | Mediation and Negotiation: Perspectives from Singapore

"Mediation and Negotiation: Perspectives from Singapore" is an interactive online webinar promoting mediation and negotiation to students who are new to Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR).

This webinar will cover an introduction to mediation and negotiation and the speakers will share their experiences in international ADR competitions as participants and as alumni coaches, and share valuable insights as to what one ought to know before a competition. There will be a live mediation demonstration as well, where you can see mediation and negotiation skills in action.

Get to know the Speakers:

Benedict Koh is a Disputes and Investigations associate at Allen & Gledhill LLP in Singapore. He is actively involved in the realm of mediation and negotiation. During his time at Singapore Management University, he competed in various CDR competitions such as the 2020 ADC-ICC Asia-Pacific Commercial Mediation Competition, the 2020 Moot Shanghai (Special Mediation Edition), and the inaugural edition of International Mediation Singapore held in 2019
After graduating in 2021, he has been active as an alumni coach for SMU CDR competition teams, successfully guiding over 10 teams in various competitions, including Lex Infinitum 2023, the 2022 edition of the ADC-ICC Asia-Pacific Commercial Mediation Competition, and the 2021 and 2022 editions of the NUJS Mediation Competition, among others. In addition, Mr Koh is also an Accredited Mediator with SIMI and formerly served as a Young IP Mediator with IPOS.

Foo Chuan He is a Legal Trainee in the Equity Capital Markets Department at Allen & Gledhill LLP in Singapore. Mr Foo was active in the international mediation & negotiation scene, competing in various competitions as a student. Notable competitions under his belt include ADC-ICC Asia-Pacific Commercial Mediation Competition 2021, the ALSA International Mediation Competition 2020, and Lex Infinitum VMSCL-AIDR International Dispute Resolution Competition 2020. In recognition of his achievements, he was also awarded the National SMU-SIMI Collaborative Dispute Resolution Award in 2020.
Currently, Mr Foo has mentored multiple SMU teams for international ADR competitions as an alumni coach with excellent results, including Lex Infinitum 2023, APIIT Law School International Negotiation Competition 2022 (ALSINC) and the ALSA International Mediation Competition (AIMC) 2022.

Staff Training Week on: International Mobility and Environmental Sustainability: Can we have the best of both worlds?

From the 19^th till the 22^nd of June 2023, it will take place at the Porto Campus of Universidade Católica Portuguesa a Staff Training week on the topic of Environmental Sustainability in Internationalization.

The staff training includes lectures, workshops and benchmarking sessions that will focus on the following topics:

Should we work on Student Inclusion or Integration on Campus?
How to communicate internationalization activities within the Institution? How can we explain our colleagues what we do?
How to manage students’ expectations when they go abroad?

The program is intended for non-teaching staff of Higher Education Institutions and teaching staff involved in internationalization or management.

Sob o lema “Dar Cor à Escola”, iremos alegrar os corredores da Escola do Parque, em Aldoar.

No dia 22, decorrerá ainda no local, às 18h30, um momento celebrativo da vida da CASO, com o Bolo dos 20 anos.

3rd INSURE.hub Conference on Innovation, Sustainability and Regeneration

Universidade Católica Portuguesa in Porto and Planetiers are pleased to invite you to the 3rd Conference of the INSURE HUB. The event will take place on November 16th and 17th. Innovation, Sustainability and Regeneration are the key topics of the conference that will take place at the UCP Porto campus.

The aim of the conference is to bring together students, researchers, and industry professionals discussing topics related to innovation, sustainability and regeneration. We intend to prepare a program that aims to be at the forefront in the international landscape, having the contribution of professionals and leaders that have been directly involved in disruptive, circular, sustainable and/or regenerative innovation processes applied in practice.

The programme presents the most national and international recent developments on these topics and has two distinct parts: (i) the Academic Branch (November 16th), dedicated to academic presentations; and (ii) the Industry Branch (November 17th), with the presentation of 6 case studies and the intervention of Manuela Veloso, Head of J.P. Morgan AI Research & Herbert A. Simon University Professor Emeritus in the School of Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon University.
